Attempt at Lens-Freehand (“Freelensing”)

So I thought I’d try freehanding the lens to see what sort of effects I could manage. The process was essentially dismounting my EF-S 18-200mm lens and holding it freehand, slightly ahead of the mount, at varying angles to the sensor. Essentially replicating (albeit, inaccurately) a tilt-shift lens and a macro lens.

I still have a while to go before I can properly achieve the sharpness of a tilt-shift, but besides that, I think the results aren’t bad. The light leak introduced by the process certainly makes things interesting. It’s definitely an artistic experiment at this point. I also suspect that I’d achieve better results with an EF mount lens over the EF-S. The rubber stop at the lens base does introduce it’s own vignetting at certain angles, so it’s a bit more difficult to work with.
